I’m one of those people. I look forward to January and July solely for Queens Feast! Restaurant Week is a magical time in space when you can go indulge at your most desired establishments at a discount. For $30/$35 a person, there are multiple course options with some places even offering a glass of wine or pint of beer!
This year we opted for Mimosa Grill. Their entire menu was included with great explanation regarding additional options. Very cool location downtown, and a huge, beautiful spot. Immediately sat and greeted, viewed the adult beverages, went for ‘The Hot to Trot’. With Herradura reposado, blood orange purée, fresh lime juice, and firewater tincture. That Cajun rim paired with the heat of the drink = dream team.
My first course was Barbeque Carolina Shrimp (duh if there’s shrimp – I’m eating it). House Worcestershire sauce, cultured butter, and olive oil bread. Extremely succulent and subtle flavors.
Next up, Petite Filet of Beef Tenderloin. Served along side steamed veggies, skillet loaded potatoes, and a port wine reduction. Perfected at medium rare! I’m a huge mashed potato fanatic, and Mimosa Grill has mastered them.
Another entree devoured was the Springer Mountain Fried Chicken! The Tennessee hot sauce, brown sugar mayo, and pimento Mac ‘n cheese side were definitely quite the treat.
And finally, the chocolate silk finale. With brown sugar and walnut crust, this was insanely delightful! The service was spot on and courteous. I was more than pleased with our Mimosa Grill experience. Definitely ready to return for brunch and more cocktails!
