Is Anyone Going to Lunch Today?

In the office, I think this question would start to get asked around 10:30am. Going to lunch isn’t quite what it used to be a few months ago, regardless of how long that Chick-fil-A line is. While I am guilty of eating there on occasion, let’s highlight some local spots!

Bachi – University

The other day on Twitter, someone asked where the best hibachi was around. Bachi is located in University off of Mallard Creek Church exit and is SO delicious. They had sushi roll specials through the week but are not allowing dine it currently. They do have a very small outside seating area. While the sushi is pretty good their Hibachi really stands out! Obsessed it comes with rice and lo mein. The vegetable and protein portions are both plenty – I get the chicken every time and it is about $9! I hear the scallops are also very good. Small tip, if you order for pickup through DoorDash it is 10% off. That is how much I hate talking on the phone.

Ace no.3 – near 277

As if you haven’t heard of Ace’s, they make some of the BEST burgers in the city. That comeback sauce will literally have you coming back for more! I do a single patty cheeseburger add bacon and pickles. I’m intrigued to try the fried bologna with fried onions! The fries / fried onions are too awesome. I finally got my hands on the Boozee Milkshake made of Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey + chocolate shake and THAT HIT THE SPOT. I even saved a lil food for later because that shake is massive! Ace is currently only offering patio seating.

Sabor – literally everywhere

Being up to 17 locations locally, it should be fairly easy to find a Sabor near by. While we typically go for their fantastic $1 tacos every Tuesday + the largest queso they have [hello eating for 2 for $15] — they offer much more! The Carne Asada fries are fire and I would absolutely consider it an entree. The Taco Bowl is a great size and nothing like building exactly what you want to eat. You can’t go wrong with anything here — we switched up our tacos last visit and enjoyed the shrimp and pork belly options! Of course their enormous burritos is also a good choice.

Nikos Grill CLT – airport

A little place we just cannot get enough of. They quite literally have anything you are craving from 7a-3p M-F a little closer to the airport. A whole list of breakfast options, subs, sandwiches, salads, you name it! The Niko is a hot sub with steak, provolone, and LTO which Danny gets often. Their Club Sandwich is pretty large and really great! My most recent venture I went with the Keto Salad with two cheeseburger patties, tomato, bacon, egg, and ranch. THE BEST SALAD — y’all gotta go check out these fine folks.

Eat Mal Pan – South Park

These folks are open for lunch at 11AM now and that is exciting! It is not easy picking a favorite here, though their burritos are pretty top notch! Cali Burrito and The Nooner (think breakfast) are our most ordered items. There’s quite a few taco options, and I suggest the Mexican street corn and queso fundido! If you are dining in, definitely grab one of their cocktails as well.
